Amtex Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Java Software Engineer for a 12-month contingent assignment with potential extension or conversion. The role supports hybrid onsite work, 3 days a week in Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ, and involves hands-on backend software development.

You will collaborate on complex initiatives, review large-scale engineering challenges, and deliver robust solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Python, Kafka, Flink, and data pipelines in a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience across roles or equivalent.
• 4+ years Java experience with Spring/Spring Boot.
• 2+ years Python backend/data development.
• Experience with Reactive Programming and WebFlux.
• Hands-on Apache Kafka experience.
• Experience with Flink.
• Database expertise: MongoDB and Oracle.
• 2+ years developing and using RESTful APIs.

Job Description: In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 4+ years of Java experience, including proficiency in Spring / Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of experience with Python, focused on backend or data-driven development.
• Deep understanding of Reactive Programming, including WebFlux.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Flink for stream processing and data pipelines.
• Database expertise with both MongoDB (NoSQL) and Oracle (RDBMS).
• 2+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interfaces (APIs).

Desired Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies.
• Exposure to LLMs (Large Language Models), agentic architectures, and prompt engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with ADK (Agent Development Kit), Playbook, or similar agentic frameworks.
