Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Asset & Wealth Management Technology group in Jersey City. The role focuses on designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products with secure, scalable code in an agile team.

You will work on multi-asset trading platform initiatives, contribute to microservices, and advance engineering practices across the SDLC, including AI-assisted coding tools and secure coding standards.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of experience.
Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Hands-on experience with core Java across the SDLC, CI/CD, and production support.
Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, MSK and related streaming tech.
SQL and NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures.
Caching systems such as Redis, GemFire, or Apache Ignite.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools with code reviews and testing.
Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and deploy applications aligned with requirements.
Contribute to Java-based microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming.
Work with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK, and AWS to deliver scalable systems.
Support domain-driven design and participate in architectural discussions.
Contribute to API design, Swagger/OpenAPI docs, logging, security, and monitoring.
Participate in code reviews and promote TDD/BDD for quality.
