Job summary

VLink is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to lead a client-driven team and own the microservices roadmap. You will ensure high-quality deliverables, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers across backend and frontend components.

Ideal candidates have 9+ years in Java API development, strong Spring Boot expertise, and hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and MongoDB integrations.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of Java API development with Spring Boot and deployment experience.
• 5+ years front-end development with Angular, React, and NodeJS.
• 3+ years leading teams and delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Strong OpenShift and Kubernetes knowledge for containerized apps.
• Experience integrating Java apps with MongoDB and Kafka is a plus.
• Solid design and programming skills with JSON, XML, and web services.
• Collaborative, agile, and effective in distributed project teams.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, or Cleveland, OH – (5 days Onsite)

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and driving the team with the client
• Responsible for sound and high-quality technical deliverables.
• Drive the direction and roadmap for the microservices architecture.
• Provide innovative solutions to complex situations and drive outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural assistance around Kafka, Microservices, front-end development, and MongoDB integrations
• Help the other members of the team with technical queries and guide and mentor them to develop top-quality code.
• Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.
• Always be ready to be hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and with the highest quality.
• Work closely with leadership and the whole Tech team
• Work to guide team members to create test plans and ensure the issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.
• Develop by incorporating the best practices

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• At least 9+ years of Java API development using Springboot, hands-on troubleshooting and deployment experience. (Mandatory)
• At least 5+ years of front-end development with Angular, React, and NodeJS.
• 3+ years of experience working as a lead and driving high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent working knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of Kafka will be a huge value add.
• Experience integrating Java-based applications with MongoDB.
• Demonstrate strong design and programming skills using JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL in Unix and Windows environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams and in an Agile environment.
