System One is seeking a Java API Technical Lead for a permanent onsite role based in Pittsburgh, PA. In this position, you will lead the technical team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and driving the microservices architecture roadmap.

The ideal candidate will have over 9 years of Java API development experience, expertise in Spring Boot, and a solid understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes. This role requires hands-on collaboration in an Agile environment.

Role Overview

Permanent Onsite Role – Java API Technical Lead.

Locations: Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the team with the client.
• Responsible for sound and high‑quality technical deliverables.
• Drive the direction and roadmap for the microservices architecture.
• Provide innovative solutions to complex situations and drive outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural assistance around Kafka, Microservices and Mongo DB integrations.
• Help other team members with technical queries and mentor them to develop top‑quality code.
• Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.
• Always be ready to be hands‑on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and with highest quality.
• Work closely with leadership and the whole Tech team.
• Guide team members to create test plans, and ensure the issues are properly identified, fixed and tested.
• Develop incorporating the best practices.

Qualifications

• At least 9+ years of Java API development using Spring Boot, hands‑on troubleshooting and deployment experience (mandatory).
• 3+ years of experience working as a lead and driving high‑quality outcomes.
• Excellent working knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of Kafka will be a huge value add.
• Experience integrating Java based applications with Mongo DB.
• Demonstrate strong design and programming skills using JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL in Unix and Windows environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams and in an Agile environment.
