• Negotiate tradeoffs with product when timelines collide.
• Monitor system health and set up alerts for production metrics.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure across Houston engineering teams.
• Decide when to buy Ruby on Rails versus build it for the Houston stack.
• Respond to on-call rotations and participate in postmortems.
• Translate JavaScript metrics into the leadership chart checked each morning.
