Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking a Java Developer for Production Support & AWS in Charlotte, NC. You will translate business stories into robust Java applications, design and implement features, and troubleshoot production issues to deliver fixes within SLA while ensuring reliability and performance.

You will collaborate across multiple layers of the infrastructure, optimize back-end services and client-end integrations, and contribute to code quality through automated tests and best practices in

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java and AWS.
• Strong OO and design patterns.
• Experience with MVC, JDBC, RESTful concepts.
• Experience with Play and Spark.
• Experience with databases and CRUD.
• Ability to write clean Java code and automate testing.
• Familiarity with Git, Ant, Maven, Gradle, and CI.
• Production support experience with SLA delivery.

Java Developer – Production Support & AWS

Position Overview

This role combines Java application development with hands-on production support, giving you the opportunity to design and develop applications while troubleshooting production issues and delivering fixes within SLA. The work involves building reliable, reusable Java applications, identifying performance bottlenecks and bugs, and collaborating with the broader team across different layers of the infrastructure.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java and good knowledge of its ecosystem, including AWS.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns.
• Skill in writing reusable Java libraries.
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java.
• Familiarity with MVC, JDBC, and RESTful concepts.
• Experience with web application frameworks such as Play and Spark.
• Familiarity with Java GUI frameworks.
• Ability to write clean, readable Java code.
• Experience with both external and embedded databases.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Basic understanding of the Java class loading mechanism.
• Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Basic understanding of the JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds.
• Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Proficiency with code versioning tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle.
• Familiarity with continuous integration.
• Production support experience with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and deliver fixes within SLA.
