Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Java Back End Engineer for an on-site role in Cupertino, CA. The candidate will design, develop, and maintain backend services, take ownership of modules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions.

Qualifications

8–12 years in designing and developing back end applications.
Experience designing and developing web applications with frontend emphasis.
Strong experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot.
Proficient with consuming REST APIs and handling HTTP responses.
Experience with backend web services frameworks.
Relational databases experience (SQL).
Strong Git, bug tracking, and collaborative skills.
Containerization and DevOps basics (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD).
Strong debugging and analytical thinking skills.

What You Will Do

Estimate, plan, and implement Java back end applications
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements to build new modules or improve existing modules.
Evaluate, maintain and improve existing code base to ensure that it is properly structured and utilize software engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot, identify, and research reported issues, and have the ability to provide recommendations by comparing advantages and disadvantages of various solutions.
Stay on top of new technologies and tools, and adopt relevant ones to the team.
Participate in peer reviews, learn and apply software engineering best practices to your work.
Accountable for meeting assigned project objectives and timelines.
Set engineering vision and direction for existing and future applications.

What You Will Bring

8 - 12 Years of experience in designing and developing back end applications
Experience with designing and developing web applications with an emphasis on frontend
Strong experience with back end technologies and frameworks - Java, Spring, Spring Boot
Proficient with consuming REST APIs and handling all HTTP responses
Experience with backend web services frameworks
Some experience with relational databases - SQL
Strong experience with Git, Bug tracking, and collaborating with a software team
Basic understanding of Containerization and DevOps processes (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD)
Strong debugging and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Self-directed, analytical, and collaborative with a constant desire to learn, improve, and make things better
Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of PMs, designers and other developers

Pay Range: $100,000-$115,000 per annum

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Cupertino, CA, USA

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
