Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Jarraff Operator to operate heavy equipment and remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. This full-time position requires safe operation and daily equipment prep under Foreperson supervision.

Travel for storm restoration is required; candidates should have high school diploma or equivalent and prior heavy equipment experience. Benefits include health, vision, dental, and 401K.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment operating experience preferred in electric utility vegetation management or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Must pass CPR/first-aid certification.
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safety practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials daily per Foreperson.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
• Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, procedures and policies.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
