Responsibilities

CDL Driver – Bilingual (Japanese/English)

Department: RTT - Oahu

Reports to: Operations Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Up to $31.50/ Hour

Starting at $24.50/Hr – $1,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS!

Job Purpose

The Bilingual Driver is responsible for ensuring safe, prompt, and efficient transportation services, operating vehicles defensively, and maintaining a clean and professional appearance for both vehicle and personal presentation. The role includes greeting customers with “Aloha,” providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring all vehicles meet company safety and presentation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all necessary DOT documents, ensuring they remain current.
  • Conduct a systematic pre‑trip inspection, complete a Driver’s Inspection Report, and report any issues immediately to maintenance.
  • Handle fueling, record fuel usage, and wash company equipment as needed.
  • Notify Dispatch Operations of any changes in route or schedule and obtain prior authorization for planned deviations.
  • Maintain uniform and required ID’s at all times during shifts.
  • Provide customer service as learned in company training.
  • Call in daily for start times the day before work.
  • Assist passengers needing special assistance and secure wheelchairs.
  • Pick‑up and drop‑off passengers efficiently and safely.
  • Load and label luggage according to destination.
  • Report passenger counts and destination changes to Dispatcher.
  • Perform tours and/or transportation to and from destinations.
  • Conduct post‑trip inspection, refuel vehicle, and clean interior and exterior.
  • Fill out a Vehicle Accident Report and follow company policies in case of an accident.
  • Complete trip sheets for each assigned movement and submit paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
  • Operate defensively, following traffic regulations and observing traffic lights, other vehicles, and pedestrians.
  • Greet customers warmly in both Japanese and English.
  • Provide clear and friendly narrations and announcements as instructed.
  • Provide customer service as per company training.
  • Maintain personal appearance and professionalism.
  • Perform safety inspections and report issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle and trip documentation.
  • Assist passengers requiring special assistance.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch for schedule updates.
  • Clean and maintain uniform and ID’s.
  • Manage fueling, washing, and maintenance reports.
  • Follow company safety and compliance policies.
Working Conditions / Job Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for sustained periods.
  • May exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Involves oral communication with detailed instructions.
  • Requires visual acuity for operating and repairing equipment.
  • Occurs both inside and outside with exposure to environmental conditions (heat, fumes, dust, mists, gases).
  • Some remote work may be necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Knowledge of local streets and hotel locations.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL A or B with P endorsement preferred).
  • State DOT’s Motor Vehicle Safety Office inspections, requiring good command of English.
  • Hawaii Driver History Record and PUC (Physical Examination, Medical Clearance Card).
  • Ability to perform simple math functions.
  • Experience working under deadlines and pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle complex issues.
  • Compliance with company Substance Abuse Policy and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Supports workplace safety and promotes mutual respect.
