Job summary

JTB Hawaii, Inc. is seeking a professional HNL Driver to transport guests across Oahu routes in compliance with DOT regulations. The role requires a valid Hawaii license, CDL B/C with air brake and passenger endorsements, and 1 year of related experience.

Shifts run 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., seven days a week, with overtime, weekends, and holidays required. A sign‑on bonus is offered for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, and at least 21 years old.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• CDL B or C with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Able to communicate with customers in English and/or Japanese.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial vehicles per DOT/state regulations, transporting guests on Oahu routes.
• Provide safe transportation for airport transfers and tours; assist with loading/unloading baggage.
• Record readings and complete required reports; check-in/out with Dispatch.

Dayforce: Pine Street - Safety & Driver - HNL Drivers [Pay Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour]

Primary Responsibilities:

Drive commercial vehicles, according to Federal Department of Transportation regulations, transporting JTB Hawaii guests and customers on specific routes throughout the Island of Oahu, in a professional and friendly manner.

Essential Functions

5%

• Conduct Pre/Post- Trip inspections in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) and Travel Plaza Transportation regulations and policies.

45%

• Provide safe transportation for airport transfers, charter excursions, tours. Provide customer service, assist in loading and loading passengers from vehicles. Assist with loading and unloading customer baggage.

• Drive vehicle in accordance with State, Federal, and traffic regulations. Observe all traffic signals, signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians on the streets, freeways, and highways, avoiding accidents.

• Record readings and information as required by procedures. Required to complete Accident Reports and check-in/out with Dispatch.

Secondary/Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school graduate, and required to be at least 21 years of age.
• Required to possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license with a totally clean driver abstract.
• Required to possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL), B or C, with air brake and passenger endorsements. Must be able to drive any type of commercial vehicle requiring a CDL “B” and/or “C”.
• Possess at least one (1) year experience in customer service or hospitality-related experience, preferred.
• Able to frequently communicate with customers over a 2-way radio, cell phone, public address (PA) system and microphone in English and/or Japanese.
• Able to work independently and work cooperatively with others; able to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
• Able to multi-task when vehicle in motion, while communicating with Dispatch over two-way radio.

Working Conditions:

Working Hours

Shift work variable between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., 7 days/week. Overtime, weekend and holiday work required.

Environmental Conditions

Subject to atmospheric conditions including: an air conditioned office, noise, exhaust fumes, dust, and adverse weather conditions.

• Possess visual acuity; including constant peripheral awareness or side vision, eye coordination, depth perception, focusing ability and color vision.

SIGN-ON BONUS ( limited time only, effective June 19, 2023)
ELIGIBILITY: Newly hired FULL-TIME CDL B Drivers with Passenger endorsement and Air Brakes (does not include rehires, part-time, or on-call employees) PAY OUT: $1,500.00 (for each eligible new employee)
