We are looking for a part-time preschool school Teacher to join our Japanese Saturday School.

The ideal candidate possesses a balance of high support, growth mindset, and innate joy of working with students.

This role will be from August 2025 to July 2026.

This role will be from 8am – 3pm on Saturdays (7 hours) and reports into the Saturday Japanese School Director.

Essential Duties:

1. Plan and teach a developmentally appropriate course of study, differentiating instruction and utilizing assessments effectively.
2. Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment to promote learning.
3. Maintain outstanding communication with parents via emails, newsletters, or blogs.
4. Share evaluations, grades, and homework assignments efficiently with parents.
5. Engage students actively by creating a student-centered classroom.
6. Incorporate technology in preparation and instruction, without relying solely on it.
7. Model intellectual curiosity and demonstrate open-mindedness about different cultures.
8. Use positive reinforcement, manage discipline, and resolve conflicts appropriately.
9. Conduct classes with integrity and model suitable behavior for students.
10. Evaluate classwork and assessments fairly and regularly.
11. Report student-related concerns promptly and seek support from supervisors when needed.

1. Supervise students during recess, lunch, field trips, and other activities.
2. Keep current with curriculum standards and instructional methods.
3. Pursue professional growth opportunities.
4. Collaborate with team members on scheduling and planning.
5. Participate in grade-level and faculty meetings.
6. Contribute positively to the school community.

1. Require two years of preschool teaching experience.
2. Must be fluent in Japanese.
3. Childhood Education certification is preferred.
4. Ability to create a safe classroom environment.
5. Strong personal accountability and passion for high-level student learning.
6. Current U.S. work visa is preferred if applicable.

This role is paid at $35.00 per hour.
