Job summary

CenClear is seeking a Janitor Supervisor in Woodland, PA who will oversee janitorial staff and perform hands-on cleaning to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming environments for children and families served by CenClear.

This full-time, hourly, non-exempt role requires strong leadership, staff training, scheduling, inspections, and close collaboration with the facilities team. Travel to CenClear locations may be required; compensation is $17–$18 per hour plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior janitorial experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage staff and schedules, and use basic computer tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee janitorial staff and provide hands-on cleaning as needed.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
  • Create and manage daily work schedules and adjust staffing as needed.
  • Train staff on cleaning procedures, equipment use, safety, and disinfectants.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness and standards compliance.
  • Attend safety meetings and collaborate with maintenance teams.
  • Approve timesheets and monitor leave requests.
  • Complete required supervision and performance documentation.
  • Monitor inventory and place orders for supplies.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning needs promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with staff and clients.

About the Role

As a Janitor Supervisor, you will oversee janitorial staff while also providing hands-on janitorial services. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and functional facilities, hiring and training staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring work, completing administrative responsibilities related to staff supervision, and ensuring janitorial services are completed to established standards.

The Janitor Supervisor will work closely with the Facility Manager and other departments to support safe and well-maintained environments throughout CenClear.

What You'll Do
  • Work 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
  • Provide janitorial services at an assigned location and ensure cleaning duties are completed to established standards.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and provide ongoing support and feedback to janitorial staff.
  • Create and manage daily work schedules and adjust staffing as needed for absences or vacancies.
  • Train staff on cleaning procedures, equipment use, safety practices, and proper use of cleaning products and disinfectants.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with established standards.
  • Attend monthly safety committee and other relevant meetings.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to help maintain clean, safe, and functional spaces.
  • Communicate staffing, facility, safety, or other concerns to leadership.
  • Approve staff timesheets and monitor leave requests.
  • Complete required paperwork, monthly supervision, and annual performance appraisals.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency cleaning needs, such as spills or equipment issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with staff and clients.
  • Participate in required meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support agency operations.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior janitorial experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and janitorial equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation and access to a working phone.
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training.
  • Dependable, motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to build positive and respectful working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities as needed.
Must obtain and maintain the following clearances and training:
  • PA State Police Criminal History Clearance
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI Criminal History Clearance
  • Mandated Reporting Certificate
Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to:

  • Reach overhead, bend, stoop, and retrieve items from the floor.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Climb stairs, ladders, and steps.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including mops, brooms, vacuums, and commercial floor/carpet scrubbers.
  • Clean a variety of surfaces using chemical disinfectants.
  • Perform other physical tasks associated with janitorial work.
