Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in the field of building maintenance required.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and power equipment.
  • Ability to work independently while also coordinating effectively with staff and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to obtain additional training when required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general maintenance and repairs related to water, sewage, furnaces, lighting, floors, and other facility needs.
  • Repair classroom equipment and other facility-related items.
  • Remove snow and ice from pavement and sidewalks and apply anti-skid materials at designated locations.
  • Monitor facilities for safety concerns, including doors, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and other safety items.
  • Report non-routine maintenance concerns and provide recommendations for repair.
  • Assist with moving office furniture, supplies, and other items as needed.
  • Coordinate with staff regarding maintenance and repair work.
  • Operate power equipment and other maintenance equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining facilities in safe operating condition and support compliance with applicable program and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and staff regarding maintenance needs and concerns.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and on-the-job training.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality when handling information about CenClear staff, children, parents, consumers/clients, and families.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support CenClear operations.

About the Role

The Maintenance Team is responsible for helping ensure CenClear facilities are safe, well-maintained, and in good operating condition. This position provides general maintenance and repair services at CenClear locations while supporting the effective delivery of services and maintaining compliance with applicable program requirements and licensing regulations.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and helping maintain safe and welcoming environments for children, families, and staff.

What You'll Do

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods with reasonable breaks.
  • Walk and stand for periods of more than one hour.
  • Climb stairs, ladders, and steps.
  • Stoop and bend to move or reach objects.
  • Push and pull a sweeper and other cleaning or maintenance equipment.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Operate power equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Meet the vision and hearing requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
