Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina (Palmetto Goodwill) is seeking a dedicated cleaner to maintain factory and office areas. The role involves sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, and providing routine maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will follow MSDS guidelines, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and perform high/low dusting, floor buffing, stripping, and waxing as needed. This on-site position supports our facilities operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with janitorial cleaning and restroom sanitation.
• Knowledge of MSDS guidelines and chemical handling.
• Ability to clean toilets, urinals, sinks and washrooms to sanitary standards.
• Experience with floor care including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping and waxing.

Responsibilities

• Follow MSDS guidelines when using chemicals.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, urinals, and sinks.
• Sweep and damp mop floors and refill dispensers as needed.
• Dust equipment, furniture, and fixtures; polish metal trimmings.
• Buff, strip, and wax floors; vacuum traffic and office areas.
• Dust and vacuum waiting chairs; mop spills and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean air ducts and high/low areas; perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, apartment house, or commercial or other establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow the MSDS guidelines when using various chemicals Empty trash receptacles
• Clean and sanitize all toilets, urinals, and sinks
• Sweep and damp mop floors using a disinfectant cleaner Refill all paper and soap dispensers as needed
• Clean and wipe all mirrors using glass cleaner
• Spot clean all walls to remove stains or prints
• Buff floors to remove scuff marks
• Strip and wax floors to remove scuff marks
• High dust above 70 inches including air ducts
• Vacuum traffic areas and office areas
• Dust and vacuum waiting chairs
• Top scrub and repeat if needed
• Mop for spills
• Clean, wipe sinks, and water coolers with disinfectant cleaner Clean and sanitize microwave ovens and refrigerators
• Clean and wipe vending machines
• Clean air ducts
• High and Low Cleaning.
• Other duties as assigned.
