Job summary

Related Management Company is seeking a reliable Porter to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming common areas in our building. You will assist with move-ins, manage grounds and offices, and support concierge services while upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role offers a 3pm–11:30pm schedule (Thu–Mon) with occasional shifts, a competitive hourly wage of $30.77, and a comprehensive benefits package through Union 32BJ.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years prior janitor, cleaner, or porter experience
• Must be reliable and have experience working with cleaning chemicals
• Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision
• Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to stand for an 8 hour shift
• Light maintenance knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Grounds & common areas: sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, hallways; empty trash and recycling; respond quickly to spills and safety hazards
• Cleaning & detailing: clean/polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, woodwork; deep clean as needed; maintain laundry, fitness center, and offices; report damages to Resident Manager
• Building maintenance support: clean stairwells, service areas, compactor room; change light bulbs; log tasks in building systems
• Resident & concierge support: cover front desk during breaks; monitor service doors during move-ins/deliveries; assist with unit inspections and tours
• Special projects & events: set up/clean shared spaces; assist with logistics and cleanup; keep spaces welcoming
• Sustainability & Safety: keep elevator/trash/amenity areas clean; support recycling/compost; scent checks; participate in team meetings and cross-training

We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working Porter to help keep our community clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door. You’ll support the building from the ground up—inside and out—by keeping common areas clean, assisting with move-ins, and helping maintain our high standards. SCHEDULE

Thursday- Monday: 3pm - 11:30pm

Tuesday and Wednesday: OFF

What You’ll Do:

Grounds & Common Areas

• Sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, and hallways
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building
• Respond quickly to spills, weather-related messes, or other safety hazards

Cleaning & Detailing

• Clean and polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, and woodwork
• Deep clean as needed (carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, waxing floors)
• Maintain the laundry room, fitness center, and management offices
• Report any damage or safety issues to the Resident Manager

Building Maintenance Support

• Clean stairwells, service areas, and the compactor room
• Change light bulbs and help prepare units for new residents
• Use building systems to log tasks and report ongoing issues

Resident & Concierge Support

• Cover the front desk during concierge breaks
• Monitor service doors during move-ins and deliveries
• Assist with unit inspections and ensure spaces look great for tours

Special Projects & Events

• Help set up and clean shared spaces like lounges, rooftops, and gyms
• Support building events and gatherings by helping with logistics and cleanup
• Keep shared spaces looking welcoming and refreshed

Sustainability & Safety

• Keep elevators, trash rooms, and amenity areas clean and odor-free
• Support recycling and compost programs
• Perform scent and cleanliness checks to ensure the building feels fresh
• Participate in team meetings and be open to cross-training

Compensation:

Hourly: $30.77
