Job description

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. Tasks may include using ladders, dusting and washing walls, cleaning ceilings, and polishing light fixtures. Also involves washing and replacing blinds, moving furniture for cleaning, removing stains with chemicals, and seasonal outdoor tasks such as snow removal.

Carpeted Areas

• Empty waste baskets and replace liners.
• Dust and clean tops of furniture.
• Vacuum carpets and spot clean as needed.
• Clean glass on lobby doors and sweep/mop tile floors.

Lunchroom / Break Areas

• Empty waste baskets, wipe tables and chairs.
• Clean vending machines and appliances.
• Clean sinks and counters, sweep and mop floors.

Conference Rooms and Office Spaces

• Maintain and organize items, wipe surfaces, and straighten furniture.
• Replace supplies, tidy loose items, and manage lost and found items.
• Prepare coffee, replace whiteboard markers, and ensure neatness.
• Organize and clean common areas, including reception and bike racks.
• Manage kitchen supplies and clean appliances.

Restrooms

• Empty waste baskets, clean and disinfect fixtures, sweep and mop floors.
• Refill dispensers.

Non-Carpeted Areas

• Empty waste baskets, mop floors, dust and polish furniture, clean vents and blinds, and clean interior glass partitions.

Knowledge and Skills

Basic janitorial knowledge, good communication skills, neat appearance, punctuality, and ability to understand client needs are required. Some positions require English language skills and uniforms.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED preferred, with at least 6 months of janitorial experience in commercial facilities.

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and using various equipment. Vision and safety accommodations as per ADA are considered.
