Responsibilities

• Restock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning products.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report them to the supervisor; follow safety policies.
• Travel may be required to meet contractual obligations to TRDI Enterprises clients.

Position SummaryThe Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment that supports operational effectiveness and service excellence. This position contributes to organizational success by performing assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and performance standards.The Janitor cleans work areas and other facilities using standard cleaning methods and procedures. This employee operates cleaning equipment, including commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and other necessary tools, equipment, chemicals, and supplies. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below; however, additional duties may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities may vary by location, contract, or client requirements based on operational needs and business necessitiesPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesClean floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and polishing using appropriate equipment and cleaning methods.Inspect all cleaning equipment prior to use and ensure it operates safely and properly.Perform high and low dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and trash removal as assigned.Polish metal fixtures, trim, and other designated surfaces.Maintain adequate inventory levels by organizing and replenishing cleaning and facility supplies as needed.Empty, clean, and sanitize trash receptacles.Handle and dispose of infectious or regulated waste in accordance with established procedures when assigned.Clean and maintain air vents and related surfaces throughout assigned facilities.Mix and prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturer instructions and established procedures.Clean blinds, windows, screens, windowsills, walls, and other assigned surfaces using approved cleaning products and methods.Sweep and maintain sidewalks, porches, entryways, and tiled surfaces.Launder cleaning materials, including rags, mop heads, and related supplies.Pick up and remove litter, debris, paper, and other waste from buildings and surrounding areas.Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, and potential hazards to the Supervisor.Follow all safety, health, and risk management policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.Complete assigned work accurately, efficiently, and within established quality standards.Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special assignments as directed by the Project Manager, Supervisor, or management.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation, Licensure & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED.1-year relevant work experience within a commercial custodial/janitorial environment.Skills & CapabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively in a clear & concise mannerAbility to effectively work with other team membersAbility to maintain confidentiality of information.Ability to work a flexible schedule.Detail oriented and basic organizational skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50–75 lbs.Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined or physically demanding environments.Ability to work within a commercial custodial/janitorial environment.Position Classification, Travel & Expected Hours Of WorkThis is a non-exempt full/part-time position; Work schedule varies and requires long hours and weekends.Travel: This position may require travel on occasion in order to meet contractual obligations to TRDI Enterprises’ clients and customers.
