Job summary

First Facility Services is seeking a diligent janitor/cleaner to maintain clean, organized, and disinfected workspaces across client facilities in Oklahoma City. You will report to the Janitorial Supervisor and Account Executive, performing duties in offices, schools, hospitals, and other sites.

Responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, and high-touch surfaces while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop interior floors.
• Sweep exterior walking paths.
• Clean windows and wipe walls.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces including desks and phones.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms; restock supplies.
• Clean breakrooms and equipment; restock supplies.
• Address spills promptly to maintain safety.
• Empty trash and recycling; disinfect containers.
• Maintain cleaning products and tools inventory.
• Report health, safety, or facility deficiencies.
• Follow established duty schedules.
• Perform duties in unpopulated or occupied areas as needed.

Job description

A janitor or cleaner is responsible for keeping an assigned workplace clean, organized, and disinfected according to standards established by FMC management in agreement with the client. The workplace may be an office, school, hospital, or other public or private facility and may include both interior and/or exterior areas. This position reports to the Janitorial Supervisor and/or the Account Executive.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Sweeping, vacuuming, and/or mopping interior floors, carpets, and rugs
• Sweeping and/or clearing exterior walking paths
• Cleaning windows and wiping down walls
• Dusting, cleaning, polishing, and/or disinfecting high-touch surfaces including desk tops, table tops, counter tops, door and drawer handles, phones, railings, etc.
• Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and maintaining sufficient restroom supply inventories
• Cleaning and disinfecting breakrooms and breakroom equipment, and maintaining sufficient breakroom supply inventories
• Immediately addressing and clearing spills or other situations that create walkway and workplace hazards
• Emptying trash and recycling bins, and wiping down and/or disinfecting containers as needed
• Maintaining a sufficient inventory of cleaning products and tools for the specific purpose of cleaning and managing assigned area(s)
• Following all health and safety regulations as required
• Notifying management of observed deficiencies, necessary repairs, or potential safety hazards
• Adhering to an established schedule for performing duties and responsibilities
• Performing duties and responsibilities in both unpopulated areas or in areas populated by others occupied in the performance of their unrelated activities
• Any other duties as assigned that align with the nature of this position

• Previous experience as a janitor and cleaner preferred
• Knowledge of and ability to handle cleaning tools
• Knowledge of and ability to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Floor care and equipment experience a plus
• Flexibility to meet the challenge of unexpected circumstances
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements may include but are not limited to the following:

• Ability to lift and/or carry 40 pounds without restrictions
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, climb, carry, and/or reach for extended periods
