POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Janitor I is responsible for custodial upkeep of the facility and production equipment. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning buildings, removing debris, keeping areas neat and tidy, and emptying trash receptacles. This individual will also support nVent goals as requested by management with a positive attitude and be willing to flex daily responsibilities as needed.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect equipment.
• Vacuum rugs/mats.
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Mix various cleaning agents.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools.
• Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
• Move heavy equipment and furniture as needed.
• Operate equipment such as power floor sweepers and moppers.
• Identify and report possible repairs.
• Shovel snow from sidewalks and sprinkle salt on surfaces.
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Capacity to follow directions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds.
