Cypress Ridge Care Center is seeking a reliable Janitor to join our environmental services team in Monterey, CA. The role involves maintaining cleanliness across the facility, waste disposal, sanitization of spaces, and managing cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

• Rotating 4 on/2 off schedule, weekends/holidays may be required.
• Healthcare or hospitality environment experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand/walk, lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout facility: floors, resident rooms, common areas, and hallways.
• Dispose of waste; empty trash, recycling, and biohazard bins daily according to regulations.
• Sanitize restrooms, high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and clinical spaces to minimize infection risk.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, and paper products.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks, floor buffing, and setup for events as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and chemical handling procedures (OSHA/SDS).

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Cleanliness: Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and hallways.
• Waste Disposal: Empty trash, recycling, and biohazard containment bins daily according to healthcare regulations.
• Sanitization: Clean and disinfect restrooms, high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and clinical spaces to minimize infection risks.
• Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, and paper products.
• Facility Care: Assist with minor maintenance tasks, floor buffing, and setting up rooms for facility events as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, chemical handling procedures (OSHA/SDS), and healthcare compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a rotating 4 on, 2 off schedule, which will periodically include weekends and holidays.
• Experience: Prior janitorial, custodial, or environmental services (EVS) experience preferred; experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is a major plus.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent attention to detail.
• Communication: Ability to read instructions, follow safety labels, and interact politely with residents and staff.
