Cypress Ridge Care Center in Monterey, CA is seeking a reliable Janitor to join our environmental services team. You will sweep, mop, sanitize spaces, and support waste disposal to keep patient rooms, corridors, and common areas clean.

We offer full-time hours on a 4-on, 2-off rotating schedule, competitive pay of $17.00–$22.00 per hour, plus medical/dental/vision benefits, PTO, a 401(k), and opportunities for advancement. A background check and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Schedule flexibility required for a rotating 4 on, 2 off schedule.
• Healthcare or hospitality experience is a major plus.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
• Able to read instructions and follow safety labels.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Cleanliness: Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and hallways.
• Waste Disposal: Empty trash, recycling, and biohazard containment bins daily according to healthcare regulations.
• Sanitization: Clean and disinfect restrooms, high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and clinical spaces to minimize infection risks.
• Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, and paper products.
• Facility Care: Assist with minor maintenance tasks, floor buffing, and setting up rooms for facility events as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, chemical handling procedures (OSHA/SDS), and healthcare compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a rotating 4 on, 2 off schedule, which will periodically include weekends and holidays.
• Experience: Prior janitorial, custodial, or environmental services (EVS) experience preferred; experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is a major plus.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent attention to detail.
• Communication: Ability to read instructions, follow safety labels, and interact politely with residents and staff.
