Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support patient-centered dining by preparing and serving nutritious meals in a clean, caring environment. The role involves maintaining sanitation, receiving and rotating stock, washing pots and pans, and following safety guidelines to protect patients, families, and staff.

Baseline duties include reporting to Administrative Assistant, performing daily cleaning tasks, and upholding Mercy’s standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Three months or more of relevant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
• Removes trash, cardboard, and recyclables in accordance with procedure
• Receives and rotates food stock and other goods.
• Ensures all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized.
• Provides needed paperwork to Administrative Assistant.
• Performs daily tasks contained in daily cleaning schedule.
• Follows Mercy’s safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
