As a Jailer, you will play an important role in the safe and professional operation of the Police Department's Jail.
Your duties may include:
The Jailer is a uniformed, non-sworn employee. Jailers are required to work holidays and weekends, as well as evening, night, and early morning shifts. Work shifts are rotated every six months and consist of 12-hour shifts, 80-hours in a 14-day period.
High school graduate or equivalent, with specialized classes in administrative and office procedures.
Required at time of hire: Possession of a valid California State Class C driver's license.
Required within one year of employment:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort navigating digital workplace tools. Strong written communication and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for detail in public-facing materials and internal documents.
