Job summary

LOFT, a KnitWell Group brand, seeks an Associate Designer to contribute to jackets development, materials, colors and silhouettes, guiding items from concept to production. You will liaise with Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising, create sketches in Illustrator and by hand, and stay current with fashion directions.

The role requires 2–3 years in fashion design, a design degree, strong color sense, and proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and CAD; New York City

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of fashion design experience.
• BA, Associates degree, or equivalent in Design.
• Strong fashion, color and print sense.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with capacity to anticipate change.
• Knowledge of design specifications (e.g., draping, pattern-making, CAD software).
• Proficient in Photoshop, Excel and Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and selection of materials, silhouettes, colors and patterns for Jackets and Outerwear.
• Assist in fabric research and development and see items through to production.
• Serve as liaison between Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising to ensure accurate information flow.
• Create sketches and updates using Adobe Illustrator and hand sketching; maintain line knowledge and track changes.
