Job summary

KnitWell Group in New York is seeking a Designer for the Suiting & Jackets categories to manage the design process from concept to final prototype. You will lead market research, mood boards, sketching, specs, and fit, while upholding brand identity across departments.

The role requires 4–6 years in design, especially in Dresses/Sportswear, and the ability to communicate stitch and construction ideas through technical sketches. Excellent fabric and color knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor0 degree in Design; 46 years in Design, specifically in Dresses and/or Sportswear.
• Ability to communicate stitch and construction ideas via full-length and technical sketches.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, silhouettes, color ways, construction techniques and trim.
• Creative sketching, design and conceptualization with a strong sense of style and color; leadership across departments.

Responsibilities

• Research global, domestic, and competitive markets to identify trends, fabrics and techniques.
• Execute silhouette, fit and styling direction for the collection.
• Collaborate with Director on seasonal fabric and yarn direction with Product Development.
• Maintain daily communication with Merchandising, Product Development, Production and Technical Design teams.
• Attend all fittings and provide input on fit direction.
