Jack In The Box - ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Position Summary

Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC), and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent internal and external service, building restaurant sales and profit, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties/Responsibilities
  • Internal Service: Recruits, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels; ensures effective training; develops internal candidates for management; creates a friendly, clean, and safe environment; motivates employees; and ensures compliance with labor laws.
  • External Service: Ensures guests receive exceptional experience through proper training and accountability; maintains visibility with guests; responds to concerns professionally; upholds brand image through food quality, cleanliness, and service.
  • Higher Profits: Analyzes operational and financial performance; implements improvement plans; develops strategies to increase sales and profitability; monitors costs and adherence to budgets.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; degree preferred.

Experience: 1+ years as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager internally, or 3+ years as an Assistant Manager externally with P&L responsibility.

Skills: Effective communication, math proficiency, analytical skills, PC knowledge, valid driver's license, ServSafe certification.

Physical Requirements

Standing/walking 85-95% of shift; lifting 10-65 lbs; operating equipment; computer use.
