Job summary

FabCorp in Houston is seeking a Press Brake Helper to support our production team. You will assist press brake operators in bending and forming metal of all thicknesses (light to heavy gauge) while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment.

The role requires assisting with setup, material handling, measuring to blueprints, and keeping the work area clean. On-the-job training is provided; reliability and safety come first.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs).
• Willingness to learn press brake operations and shop practices.
• Basic understanding of measuring tools (tape measure, square, calipers) is a plus.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
• Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the press brake operator with setup, material handling, and bending operations.
• Load, unload, and position metal sheets and plates of varying thicknesses and sizes.
• Measure, mark, and prepare materials according to job specifications and blueprints.
• Help move finished parts and raw materials using forklifts, carts, or overhead cranes as needed.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and machine guards.
• Perform basic quality checks and report any issues to the operator or supervisor.
• Support other shop tasks as assigned to keep production flowing
• Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas.
• Follow company safety & security guidelines
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
• Other duties as needed.

We are a metal fabrication shop seeking a reliable Press Brake Helper to support our production team. You will assist press brake operators in bending and forming metal of all thicknesses (light to heavy gauge) while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Assist the press brake operator with setup, material handling, and bending operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting up to 30 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. The employee is frequently required to sit while performing the duties of this job (approx. 70%) walk (30%) stand (0%). The employee is expected to lift or move materials (5% of workday).
