Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha seeks an IV Team Registered Nurse to provide specialized vascular access care across the hospital. You will assess, insert, maintain, and manage PIVs, midlines, PICCs, and implanted ports, while promoting patient safety, accurate documentation, and evidence-based practice.

This role requires strong clinical skills, ongoing assessment, education for patients and staff, and collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Nebraska RN license (or compact multistate license) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to vascular access requests from all hospital departments and inpatient units.
• Insert and maintain peripheral intravenous (PIV) catheters; perform ultrasound-guided IV insertions if skilled.
• Access and de-access implanted ports according to policies; manage midline and PICC lines as applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
