Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pharmacy leader to oversee the IV department, ensuring safe and accurate compounding for long-term care facilities. You will supervise technicians and IV specialists, implement SOPs, and maintain quality and regulatory compliance.

Collaboration with physicians and nurses is essential to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities include staff training, scheduling, policy development, and meticulous record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia (GA).
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Experience in hospital, retail, or medical fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day IV department operations and SOP development.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and IV specialists; conduct staff evaluations/terminations as needed; schedule staff.
• Ensure IV compounding complies with USP <797> and relevant laws/regs.
• Develop policies for IV dept and ensure quality improvement.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses for optimal patient outcomes; address inquiries.
• Lead staff training on sterile compounding and new equipment/guidelines.
• Verify orders for appropriateness and safety; consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
• Maintain records of IV activities, inventory, and staff training.
