Job summary

PharMerica is hiring a full-time Pharmacy IV Technician in Huntington, WV to join a closed-door, non-retail team serving long-term care and senior living clients. You will work in a Class 100 cleanroom, performing sterile compounding and coordinating with pharmacists.

The schedule is Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm with rotating weekends; benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and paid time off. We cover license fees and offer growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Pharmacy Technician license required.
• 6 months to 1 year IV Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.
• Long Term Care pharmacy experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Sterile Compounding Room per USP 797 and state standards.
• Prepare and fill prescriptions for long-term care residents.
• Support QA processes and documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and nursing home communications.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately.
• Maintain and clean infusion pumps and sterile equipment.
• Replenish Emergency Drug Kits for long-term care facilities.
• Ship and track Alere packages via third-party providers.
• Support inventory, filing, phones, and stocking in the IV dept.
• Collaborate with Lead IV Technician and Pharmacy Supervisor for safety and compliance.
• Report any USP 797 related concerns promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist/IV Supervisor.
