Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare admixtures for IV solutions, unit-dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications, and to assist in compounding medications for critical care and OR satellite areas.

You will maintain stock levels, follow written procedures and regulations, and collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices. Prior IV admixtures experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
• Work Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required; PTCB Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
• Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
• Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
