Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to handle admixtures of medications into IV solutions and prepare unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy meds in critical care and OR satellite areas.

The role requires a H.S. Diploma or GED; prior IV admixtures experience preferred; state Board registration (PHRMTECH-R) upon hire is required, with PTCB preferred. Will maintain stock and adhere to procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Work Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy upon hire required; PTCB Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions/medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
