Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician responsible for admixtures of medications to IV solutions, preparation of unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintain stock levels and follow procedures and regulations.

Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document best practices; will perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required upon hire.
• PTCB Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixtures of medications to IV solutions and preparation of unit dose syringes.
• Prepare chemotherapy medications and compound medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
