Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician to prepare admixtures for IV solutions, unit-dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications in critical care and OR satellite areas. You will maintain stock levels and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.

Collaborating with pharmacy and technical staff, you will help define best-practice workflows and perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) is required; PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Preparation of unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compounding of solutions/medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow written procedures, guidelines, and state/federal regulations; work with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices.
