Job summary

Texas Oncology in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (IV Admixture) to join our team. This full-time position supports the San Marcos location with occasional Kyle coverage and offers a rotating schedule of 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

No weekends, calls, or major holidays are required. Role involves compounding under supervision, inventory control, data entry, and adherence to compliance standards.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has IV admixture experience and pharmacy knowledge.
• Experience with preparation of medications under physician supervision is preferred.
• Certification or formal training in IV compounding is recommended for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician.
• Checks all orders for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
• Under direct supervision, admixtures drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines.
• Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
• Maintains temperature logs and documentation for medications and protocol drugs.
• Provides inventory control support and prepares labels and billing data as needed.
