Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician responsible for admixtures of medications to IV solutions and preparation of unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications. The role includes compounding of solutions used in critical care and OR satellite areas, and maintaining stock levels in assigned areas.

The technician will follow written procedures and state/federal regulations, work with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices, and perform duties of a Pharmacy

Qualifications

• Education requirement: H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Experience preferred in IV admixtures.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required upon hire.
• PTCB Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixtures medications to IV solutions and prepare unit dose syringes.
• Prepare chemotherapy medications and compound solutions/medications for critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow standard written procedures, guidelines and state/federal regulations.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
