Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team. The role involves compounding IV admixtures and chemotherapy under supervision, plus reviewing orders and ensuring patient safety.

You’ll manage inventory, verify insurance approvals, calculate dosages, and stay current with medications. Travel between Ironwood locations is required, and a dedicated technician program supports growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience including sterile compounding (IV admixture and/or chemotherapy).
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Solid math and dosage calculation skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and follow protocols accurately.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and dispensing systems.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision.
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
• Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications.
• Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems).
• Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
• Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal.
• Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment).
• Stay current with new medications and protocols.
• Travel between locations as needed.
