Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our oncology team. You will prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision.

The role requires meticulous dosing, accurate calculations, and adherence to safety and aseptic techniques. Travel between Ironwood locations is required as needed to support patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience with sterile compounding.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Strong math and dosage calculation skills.
• Attention to detail and patient safety mindset.
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and follow protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Oncology experience.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and dispensing systems.
• Retail pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy.
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
• Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications.
• Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems).
• Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
• Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal.
• Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment).
• Stay current with new medications and protocols.
• Travel between locations as needed.

Are you passionate about patient care and ready to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer? Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team in our Gilbert location.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision
