Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Austin, TX is seeking an ITS & Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support design and data tasks in our office. You will gain hands-on experience with CAD tools (MicroStation and AutoCAD) and assist with design plans and traffic signal models.

We welcome students who have completed 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree in an ABET-accredited program. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software are preferred; no prior experience required for

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is searching an ITS & Traffic Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Austin, TX office.

Your Role

• Provide administrative and operations support.
• Responsible for the compilation of data and the preparation of reports.
• Utilize computer software such as CAD (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD) to produce schematics, drawings and design plans.
• Assist with preparation of design plans and traffic signal models
• Coordinate within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
• Participate in group meetings, both project and organization related

About You

• EXPERIENCE:
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate'S or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION:
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
