Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office.

Your role
  • Assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects.
  • Support the collection, organization, and analysis of traffic data.
  • Help prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations.
  • Assist with traffic studies, signal analyses, and transportation planning tasks.
  • Participate in field visits and traffic data collection activities.
  • Support the development and review of engineering drawings and plans.
  • Collaborate with project team members on project deliverables.
  • Learn industry tools, standards, and best practices related to transportation engineering and ITS.
About you
  • EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree program
  • EDUCATION: Must have completed at least 90 hours towards a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship (Spring 2027).
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
