Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office. Your role Assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects. Support the collection, organization, and analysis of traffic data. Help prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations. Assist with traffic studies, signal analyses, and transportation planning tasks. Participate in field visits and traffic data collection activities. Support the development and review of engineering drawings and plans. Collaborate with project team members on project deliverables. Learn industry tools, standards, and best practices related to transportation engineering and ITS.

About you
EXPERIENCE

No experience is generally required if accepted into a Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree program

EDUCATION

Must have completed at least 90 hours towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship (Spring 2027).

SPECIAL SKILLS

Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
