AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineer in Orlando, FL to deliver technology-driven transportation solutions that improve safety, mobility, and operations for communities and agencies. You will support projects from concept through construction, developing plans, analyses, and technical deliverables for ITS and traffic-related facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Engineer Intern (E.I.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, depending on education level and project experience.
• Experience with ITS, traffic signals, transportation technology, traffic operations, or roadway safety projects is preferred.
• Strong technical writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with engineering software and design tools is preferred; CAD, MicroStation, and Visio are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver ITS/traffic engineering solutions including signals, fiber optics, cameras, dynamic signs and adaptive control.
• Apply emerging technologies and sound engineering judgment to address transportation challenges.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver projects with meaningful community impact.
• Support TSM&O projects to improve safety, mobility, and roadway operations.
• Develop plans, drawings, and technical deliverables for ITS and traffic projects.
• Conduct traffic studies, intersection analyses, safety audits, and modeling.
• Evaluate design alternatives and regulatory requirements to develop practical solutions.
• Prepare documentation, permits, cost estimates, and labor-hour estimates for projects.
• Support plan reviews, shop drawings, and field observations during delivery.
