AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior ITS/Traffic Engineer for our Orlando, FL team. You will lead ITS and traffic engineering tasks for projects in Florida and nationwide, collaborating with engineers, PMs, and clients from concept through implementation.

Strong design, writing, and communication skills are essential as you mentor junior staff and contribute to business development. Expected compensation range is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• PE License.
• 4-10 years of ITS, Traffic Signal, Lighting, Signing, and Marking experience.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• AutoCAD or MicroStation experience.
• IMSA Certification(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review plans for ITS, traffic signal, lighting, signing, and pavement marking projects.
• Perform ITS and traffic engineering design assignments, including systems planning and requirements definition.
• Design and support ITS systems including DMS, CCTV, traffic detection, and communications infrastructure.
• Review conceptual, preliminary, and final design submittals for accuracy and compliance with criteria.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation communicating recommendations and design decisions.
• Support project delivery through task planning, coordination, and quality reviews.
• Conduct field investigations, surveys, and cost-benefit analyses to support design decisions.
• Support construction-phase services including RFIs, field coordination, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead defined technical tasks and mentor junior staff.
• Support marketing and client relationship activities.
