Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office. You will assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports and presentations while learning industry tools and standards.

The internship targets civil engineering students with at least 90 hours toward their degree and basic knowledge of traffic engineering and Excel.

Qualifications

• No experience required if enrolled in Civil Engineering bachelor's degree program
• Must have completed at least 90 hours toward a civil engineering degree by Spring 2027
• Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects
• Support collection, organization, and analysis of traffic data
• Help prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations
• Assist with traffic studies, signal analyses, and transportation planning tasks
• Participate in field visits and traffic data collection activities
• Support the development and review of engineering drawings and plans
• Collaborate with project team members on project deliverables
• Learn industry tools, standards, and best practices related to transportation engineering and ITS
