Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking an Item Processing Representative for a hybrid role in Sacramento, CA. You will handle checks, deposits, bill pay and related items, and ensure accuracy through item processing systems. The position is non-exempt, paying $21.00–$21.50 per hour.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 1+ years in cash handling or financial services, and strong customer service skills. You will support compliance and collaborate with fraud prevention and branches to deliver secure

You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced processing environment where accuracy matters. You excel at managing financial transactions, researching and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with regulations and internal procedures. With a strong commitment to quality, service, and teamwork, you help ensure the secure and efficient processing of member transactions while supporting the operational excellence of the Credit Union.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Receive and process a variety of financial transactions, including checks, deposits, bill pay and other related items made through mail, mobile or ATM channels.
• Utilize item processing systems and tools to ensure accurate and timely completion of transactions.
• Conduct thorough reviews of processed transactions to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
• Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Maintenance of retention and storage of the ATM and Remittance work.
• Daily review of deposit reporting aligned with Regulation CC for ATM and Mobile deposits.
• Conduct through research and promptly respond to inquiries from members, branches, and departments.
• Validate and verify information to minimize errors in transaction processing.
• Deliver exemplary service to members, branches, and other department staff with efficiency and courtesy.
• Organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while being detailed oriented.
• Collaborate with the fraud prevention team to enhance security protocols and minimize risks associated with fraudulent activities.
• Maintain thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
• Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide additional support throughout the department and perform other tasks and duties assigned as needed to maintain daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES:

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• 1+ years experience with cash management or financial industry required
• 1+ years experience with customer service required
• Previous experience in item processing or related financial roles is preferred preferred
