  • Use multiple systems to manage workload efficiently.
  • Identify and escalate issues impacting data integrity or service levels.
  • Interact with patients, providers, and external pharmacies to verify and update prescription information.

Item Entry Specialist

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Position Summary

As an Item Entry Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day pharmacy and specialty operations by ensuring accurate data entry, maintaining patient and prescription records, and assisting with workflow processes across multiple departments. This position requires a highly organized individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, tech-savvy, and thrives with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and update patient, prescription, and program information in internal systems.
  • Review records for completeness and data accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and notes to support operational workflows.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Process requests and updates while adhering to established procedures and turnaround times.
  • Utilize multiple systems simultaneously to manage workload efficiently.
  • Identify and escalation issues that may impact service levels or data integrity.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and external pharmacies via telephone to obtain, verify, and update information related to prescriptions, inventory items, orders, and account records.

  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
