Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Sterling, VA seeks an ITAR/EAR Compliance Specialist to lead export controls, licensing with DDTC/BIS, and program governance. You will own the day‑to‑day export compliance program, provide training, perform classifications, and advise on regulatory changes.

The role serves as SME across engineering, supply chain, and legal, ensuring full regulatory adherence for aerospace tech including eVTOL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on ITAR/EAR compliance experience in aerospace/defense
• Experience preparing and managing DDTC/BIS licenses, TAAs, MLAs
• Strong knowledge of USML, CCL, and screening tools (SDN, Entity List)
• U.S. Person under ITAR (citizenship requirement)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage export licenses, TAAs, MLAs with DDTC/BIS
• Maintain license tracking, renewals, amendments, closures
• Conduct CJ and ECCN determinations for hardware, software, data
• Develop and improve the Export Compliance Program (ECP) and controls
• Deliver ITAR/EAR awareness training for employees and partners
• Screen customers, suppliers, and foreign nationals against restricted lists
• Advise on export control due diligence for transactions and partnerships
• Coordinate with legal on compliance matters and audits
