Job summary

CentricsIT seeks a detail-oriented Asset Technician to support testing, data wiping, and inventory processes for IT hardware. You will document asset details and ensure proper disposition in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle basic software tools, learn ERP workflows, and maintain safe work practices while lifting and moving hardware as required by the role.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of IT equipment (hard drives, memory, etc.).
• Hardware build and repair experience on laptop/PC/server equipment.
• Ability to cope with peak workloads, short deadlines and project-based work.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow established processes/standards.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic testing of electronic equipment and peripherals.
• Performs data security wiping procedures on electronic assets per company policies.
• Maintains inventory integrity.
• Tests key functions on equipment including POST testing.
• Evaluates hardware for specific disposition.
• Records asset information into the ERP system.
• Follows bin location procedures and prepares equipment for order fulfillment.
• Locates and labels incoming inventory and reconciliations.
• Performs basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook tasks.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment; adheres to procedures and regulations.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs basic testing of electronic equipment and peripherals
• Perform data security wiping procedures on electronic assets including physically destroying data bearing assets according to strict company policies and procedures
• Maintain integrity on inventory
• Perform testing of key functions on equipment, including POST testing
• Evaluates and identifies hardware for specific disposition
• Record detailed asset information into the ERP system
• Follows procedures regarding bin locations of equipment, relocation of equipment and picking of equipment for order fulfillment
• Accurately locate and label incoming inventory and reconciliations
• Perform basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Other tasks as assigned by management
