Job summary

CentricsIT LLC is seeking an asset disposition technician in Norcross, GA to perform basic testing of IT equipment, data wiping, and inventory maintenance. You will record asset details in the ERP system and ensure proper handling of equipment for disposition.

Responsibilities include testing, labeling, and following safety and company procedures, with opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and support various IT hardware tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of IT equipment (hard drives, memory, etc.)
• Hardware build and repair experience (laptop, PC, server, etc.)
• Ability to cope with pressure of peak workloads, short deadlines and project-based work
• Ability to learn quickly and follow established processes/standards
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
• A+ Certification preferred

• Performs data security wiping procedures on electronic assets
• Maintains inventory integrity
• Tests key functions on equipment including POST testing
• Evaluates and identifies hardware for disposal
• Records asset information into the ERP system
• Follows relocation and picking procedures for equipment
• Labels and locates incoming inventory and reconciliations
• Uses Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for daily tasks
• Maintains clean and safe work environment
• Supports management with other tasks as assigned

Key Responsibilities

• Performs basic testing of electronic equipment and peripherals
• Perform data security wiping procedures on electronic assets including physically destroying data bearing assets according to strict company policies and procedures
• Maintain integrity on inventory
• Perform testing of key functions on equipment, including POST testing
• Evaluates and identifies hardware for specific disposition
• Record detailed asset information into the ERP system
• Follows procedures regarding bin locations of equipment, relocation of equipment and picking of equipment for order fulfillment
• Accurately locate and label incoming inventory and reconciliations
• Perform basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Maintains quality service by following organisation standards
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Other tasks as assigned by management
