Job Description

Our team has an immediate need for an IT Technician 2 with demonstrated experience providing general infrastructure support, including responding to and updating trouble calls utilizing REMEDY; performing break-fix troubleshooting and analysis of problems; and performing repair activities in order to return equipment, systems or networks to normal operational status. Primary responsibilities include:

1. Perform or assist with new installations and/or life cycle upgrades for shipboard ADP IT networks and equipment.
2. Provide shipboard training to crew members as necessary for LAN and IT Equipment operation.
3. Interface and coordinate daily regarding planned activities with customer representatives, shipboard personnel, other contractors providing specialized LAN or network communications support.
4. Prepare and provide daily work reports.
5. Respond to queries for ad hoc data and network configuration and inventory reports.

Must possess knowledge and/or skillset in the following areas:

1. Windows Server (2008r2/2012/2016) /desktop Operating Systems (7/10).
2. Virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual Server.
3. Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange (2007/2010/2016).
4. Migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016.
5. Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration.
6. LAN Routing and Switching configuration and troubleshooting.
7. Server builds using server 2008r2 preferred 2016.
8. Cat5/fiber.

Job Requirements

1. Must possess or be able to possess IAT II, in coordination of IAWF DoD 8570.01M.
2. Must possess or be able to obtain an operating system certification that correlates to systems installed onboard vessels.
3. Progressive IT experience (5 years).
